I'm a rookie writer enjoying the flow of words sprouting out of my fingers. Sometimes it goes easy, at other times it's a real struggle. I love and crave any kind of feedback, good or bad. I write when I can, but a husband, two kids, 4.2 cats (aging from 15 years to 4 months) do take up most of my time. Yet I found the time to try out something I never thought I was good at. I started writing. I came to love it and enjoy the new friendships I've made with fellow writers I simply adore (well I like the writers, but adore their work *grins*)

Review: Adaira

Adaira Adaira by Ariana Hawkes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

ariana is doing it on purpose! many times i've hinted that reading Tamika's story would be so good! but no.... she keeps amazing us with other shftr app stories that keep on getting better. adeira's story is no exception to that! but we're closing in since adeire is tamika's niece. she came to town hoping tamika could set her up with one of the shifters that use the app too. she'd love one who can handle her and her temperament.
there is one bear that tops the chart, or rather list. he's a mountain of a man, who lives on the mountain. to get them together isn't an easy feat. first he shows up late, which in turns makes her think she's been stood up. after a very apologetic all from him and explanation, she feels a bit ashamed. it takes him almost a full day to come down from the mountain on foot. giving him a second change and not adverse to some hiking herself, they agree she'll make the trek up the mountain.
only she doesn't reach his cabin, she's tricked into believing a stranger is the person she's meeting, only it turns out to be a cocky alpha wolf.
it's the onset for more misunderstandings but they quickly get solved and she's rescued by her mountain bear.
but if we think it's easy sailing from then on out we're wrong!

with a bit of drama thrown in the mix, this shftr story once more sets the tone for an excellent series. some soul-searching (or digging) is needed to let fate have her way!

Triad: A Fox-Shifter Romance Triad: A Fox-Shifter Romance by Cara Wylde
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

the little secret is out but kept at the same time. as they all make things work there is more news trickling in from the outside. news about the trial, facts that makes them consider more is at play and the ruse they're all upholding will have to stepped up.
i don't want to tell too much about this part because it's rather emotional, a rollercoaster for most of them and they have to keep a clear head to anticipate the move of everyone else!
can't wait to read the next part, so many things were told or hinted at that i'm just too curious, it's a pain to have to wait aargh

Review: Smolder

Smolder Smolder by Sennah Tate
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

we all know what happened in the previous books and well sometimes i belief a bad boy should be able to redeem himself.
he's trying his best but nobody wants to give him a job and when he gets one they belief that he should work of his debt and most refuse to pay him, leaving him as good as broke most of the time.
the only constant in his life is his gran and the biggest regret is letting ally go. knowing she's back in town isn't really helping his feelings but when he finds his gran near consciousness, he sees no other way as to go over to the neighbors, where ally lives with her grandmother, and beg her to come with him to check up on his gran.
when it happens again a few days later, it's ally's grandmother that suspects more is going on and sends the pair on some kind of treasure hunt.
the panther in him still wants ally and isn't so sure they should go together but her gran insists she'll take care of of the other woman as they search for some hidden waterpool.
it's a journey full of revelations and confessions.
i loved this little glimpse in the life of another panther. he didn't have an easy time and i sure hope that there once will come a time when luck is on his side!

yay more roxie noir and more of her triad matings! i loved the bear ones so i had high expectations for the wolves. i'm glad i was not disappointed!
loved it! loved it! loved!
happy to run her own bar, be the boss over her own time, paid her own car, greta is a bit of a wild child. not really a child no more, she's still single at the age of 32, much to the chagrin of her parents, the alpha pair of the local pack. there isn't a time when either of her parents try to set her up with possible mates but she loves her freedom more then the prospect of having to others wanting her attention.
that is until former local Elliot and his mate, Shane, walk into her bar. there is some interest but before things can go any further one of them ends up in a bit of a fight with another shifter. greta knows a fight can draw in a crowd and once in a while is fine but she rather have no fights at all.
what will she do with them?
what will her parents do?
she had to admit that Elliot had changed a lot since he was a teenager and shane was his opposite. could it be?

i said it before and i'll say it again : i loved it!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

doing her best to keep things together, ginger knows she's at the end of her rope. with only a few bucks left she needs to find a tracker willing to bring her to her late father's cabin. once there she's sure to find the one thing that would help her solve all the problems.
but first things first, find a tracker. a strange lady makes her way over and kindly offers her lunch and the name and number of a man she's sure would help her, even for a lower rate.
as luck would have it, the man picks up after the first ring and invites her over to the lodge.
and so her journey commences. hiking her way over to the lodge she knows she has underestimated the alaskan weather. luck would have that when a vehicle stops besides her, it turns out to be the tracker she had on the phone. giving her a ride the rest of the way, introductions are made.
even-though a bit reluctant Brock jumps at the chance to escape his family, specially now he's the new alpha of his clan of bears and with their kind reminder that an alpha needs a mate!
ginger may just be his way to escape them all and have a few days of relaxation in the wilderness.

thrilling story about attraction, acceptance and a little bit of drama along the way. i loved the first in this series and i can only hope many more will come!

Review: Alien Warrior's Mate: Draconians

Alien Warrior's Mate: Draconians Alien Warrior's Mate: Draconians by Scarlett Grove
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

a terrorist group made a huge mess of Loretta's plans. she was just in the building for a job interview, not to be taken hostage and threatened to be killed because an out space race of dragon shifters has chosen earth to "provide" them with willing woman to mate with.
Mylash would rather stay at home and fight at the front but the big chief made them go ahead with the mating excursion. ugh he couldn't see the appeal of taking a human female as a mate, he wasn't interested at all. things on earth are taking a turn for the worse when the news of the attack reaches their ship. Mylash is sent down to take care of things. never before had the dragons shown their real power to humans but now they were wanting to kill their own females so dragons couldn't mate them. it kind of forced the issue. Mylash is taken by surprise when he finds a single young female huddled in a corner, not sure what to make of it initially, he's quickly realizing his dragon had other plans with this particular female!
how is he going to convince her that they're meant to be? the only good thing is, she wasn't in the available group so he can hide her while they make their mind up!

a lovely read. Mylash is upfront and doesn't beat around bush about what he wants and what he wants is Loretta, only Loretta isn't so meek and willing as he'd like her to be.

shifters from outer space, i like the twist given in this story about the how and the why. a fresh look on things makes for a wonderful story!

Review: Eric's Edge

Eric's Edge Eric's Edge by Holley Trent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

eric and maria, two unlikely people that came together to help each other. rather eric helping out maria. he tried his best to hide his true feelings but even his bear had enough of it and wants maria to be fully theirs. guarding his heart he tells her there won't be anymore hook ups when she's feeling overwhelmed by her anger.
but the company she works for has other ideas and puts them together on a RV in order to pick up two bear-children who were kidnapped by their dad.
i only picked up this series and not having read the prior books doesn't deter from the story. there where needed enough is told to have a general idea how things came to be and don't feel left out.
it was a heartfelt story that mostly revolved around trust and the bravery to take that first step into the unknown.

Review: Burn Baby Burn

Burn Baby Burn Burn Baby Burn by Catherine Vale
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

On her way home Adalyn suddenly finds herself in trouble when, in dragon form, she loses the ability to fly. crashing down, she’s lucky she’s not majorly hurt. making her way into a local bar she contemplated calling her clan, knowing they’d be restless when she won’t arrive at the agreed time. instead she gets pulled into the attraction with a tall dark and handsome stranger that is parked at the bar only a few seats from her. they end up having a wonderful night but before the dawn is there Adalyn makes sure to be gone, not feeling the need for more complications.
big was her surprise when the day after she’s called into the Order and is paired up with none other than her one night stand, also a dragon shifter (but one that is the cause of the non-fly spell to be in place!), to retrieve a young dragon baby in danger.
will these two make it work or is he just too full of himself to make it work?
what a joy to read this one. it isn’t a direct link to the Order but still part of it. it just makes you wish to have a dragon of your own, sighs …

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cody is the younger son of the Alpha. nobody really takes him serious or doesn't trust him to do a descent job of any given task. it kind of haunts him, but he's good at hiding his true feelings with jokes, brassiness and rotating women faster then they change underwear.
that's until heather, a full blooded human, enters the picture as a stand in teacher. he tries to stay away but his wolf isn't having it. drawn to her like a moth to a flame they do their best to fight their attraction, but you know fate. it always has a way of turning out just right. though fate has created a dilemma once more , else she wouldn't be fate i guess.
a heartfelt story how two people find solace with each other. a must have if you're reading the rest of this series, it can't be missing!

Semper Fi - A Bbw Stepbrother Romance Semper Fi - A Bbw Stepbrother Romance by D H Cameron
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

erik and darlene, step siblings. the first was always showered with praise and attention, the second resulted in being a bad girl to try and get the same from their parents. when erik returns home from deployment with an honorable discharge after losing a leg, darlene starts to see him in a different light. she has some issues accepting him how he is now, that he never wanted all the attention in the first place.
he on the other hand struggles with being back, no purpose and unwilling to accept help. he's only escape is drinking, something that almost drives darlene away from him too.
what they start to feel for one another is forbidden but they won't stop it.
the PTSD could have been brought to the forefront a bit more, he was a bit too accepting of the fact he lost his leg but then falls into a black hole he sees no way out of.
despite this it was still a good read with conflict and drama, some nice hot scenes and some soulsearching.

Review: Avenge

Avenge Avenge by Kaye Blue
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

in this part we get to know one of the other mob families. it's gritty and it shows things the way they are, cruel, bloody and raw.
used to the lifestyle he knows he'll never get to be the number one, he's a bastard's son, nothing more, nothing less. when the current head of the familiar decides to pass on the reigns due to ill health, he's surprised to find a young woman tending him, a woman he doesn't know who she is. he never came across a request to do a background check on her. he doesn't trust her, yet he's intrigued by her demeanor, un phased as she is around them all.
she finally made it! she infiltrated the family that destroyed her brothers life. she's determined to end things but meeting "him" makes her doubt everything. when he shows up at her doorstep she fears the worst but ends up having the time of her life!
how will these two make it work? or is their past catching up? so much is at play when both battle their demons, hoping to make the right decisions there is so much at stake!

what a story! so much hardship to overcome. it's a different world that of a mobster but it feels so real. the choices that are made ...
loved it from start to finish, even the cringe worthy parts!

a nice story to warm you up for the season to come!
Kallum knows Fawn is his true mate only she's having none of it. every easy attempt he makes to get closer she rebuffs. in a big effort to win her over he start leaving her little sweet nothings, hoping to win her over that way. she's none the wiser they're coming from him. sadly when he wants to leave his last gift he gets busted by her best friend, he knows his good luck ran out now but he's pleasantly surprised her friends agrees to help him. he tells her of his last big gesture and he can use her help with this.
now the question is going to be how Fawn will react to this all, she adores the little presents even though she has no clue who they're coming from.

you can't say anything wrong about this story, it's sweet, warm, emotional, even if you hadn't read previous books in this series it's not a turn off. things are kept pretty vague as not to distract from the characters leading this story.
really loved it!

Review: Call Me Killer

Call Me Killer Call Me Killer by Linda Barlow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

he's seen as the black sheep in town since they all think he actually murdered his former girlfriend. he knows he hasn't, she just vanished without a trace! but still the stigma stays with him. yet he manages to find himself a stray girl that jumps into his car and urges him to drive off, fast!
he's not too happy to have her on board but he can't help but somehow be curious about her.
she's too smart mouthed and without much trouble sweet talkes herself into staying, which he allowed, for one night. right ... one day and she's already snooping around on his computer, lecturing him about it not being safe enough, to easy to hack ... it doesn't take her long to find out who he is but it also doesn't take her long to know for sure he didn't do what the whole town accuses him off. loving mysteries and puzzles she's drawn to his predicament. with enough talking he begrudgingly allows to look further.
this is the start for a very daring, straining journey for them both. it doesn't take them long to end up in bed together either.

this isn't just the story of a bad boy but a story that covers so much more. i loved this from start to finish, every twist and turn and how these two grew to be so much for each other. an awesome read!

Crude is a good description for this book and its lead male character. because that is just what he is around his soon to be stepsister. but is it all a ruse to hide his true feelings? what started out as just getting a rise out of her grows into immense proportions he never imagined.
will these two youngsters manage to find a middle ground to co-exist or is giving in easier to cope with the attraction?
there is always that forbidden feeling reading a genre like this but it's writing it in such a way that it doesn't feel that way that makes it a good book, one i wouldn't mind reading again.

being new in town, grayson has no clue that the man he’s going to fight is his new boss’ son and even though the rhino shifter is a crap fighter, he always wins. retaliation is always around the corner if he loses.
dakota been a waitress here for two years now and never even had the urge to go on a single date. when grayson sets foot into the bar on fight night, her bear starts waking up and showing interest in the kindred bear. when he steps into the fight cage she tries to warn him but his defiant look doesn’t promise a good outcome if he wins.
how right she was. he hasn’t barely left the bar after winning that he’s taken down and left for dead. when dakota finds him, she hauls him into her apartment, her mind set on not letting him die just about anywhere. at that moment her bear bonds with him and she’s upset that at that moment she would find a mate only to lose him.
but luck is on her side and he manages to pull through.
if this were it, you’d be mistaken. surviving the attack only makes things very awkward for him at his new job but having found dakota and bonding with her makes it all worth.
will they get their HEA? i’m not so sure about it. yet!
what a thrilling read this was. almost thinking it was over before it even started! i wanted to jump into that cage myself and kick some butt.

sigh.... roxie, roxie, roxie.... why do you make them all so lovable even when they're grumpy and difficult ?
things start getting more serious for austin when a hiker shows up screaming for help after finding an unconscious man in the woods.
things get even more complicated when he recognizes her as the one woman who could complete his triad. only as things are now, his friends and family don't even know he is mated because his mating is kind of a big no no in the shifter world, but what do you do when fate leads you to the person who completes you even if that person is of a different kind?
when things get really complicated it goes from bad to worse but will he be able to find his happy ending?

a lot of misunderstandings lead to stephen and kate having a huge fall out. being mated wolfs, separation isn't an option but things as they are can't stay like this for much longer.
he's got to stop being sensitive around her and she has to learn to accept her animal and stand up for what she really wants.
getting back together isn't easy and it takes a huge toll on the both.
it seems that the Christmas period is the right one to make all things right again.

Review: Wolf's Holiday

Wolf's Holiday Wolf's Holiday by Rebecca Royce
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I haven't read previous books in this series but that didn't bring down this particular book at all. with the little snippets thrown in here and there you can form a good view about what has happened in the past to pick up with things in the present time.
as the holiday season is upon us and Christmas is getting closer, the pack is adapting to the newly mated humans that are now part of them. it's easier for some and harder on others to accept new traditions. however they're doing their best to make the best of things.
when the rumor about a bear shifter and baby gets stronger, their alpha sets out to investigate.
it's a sweet intermezzo that helps a lot of people come to terms with the changes and their do's and don'ts. same for the alpha and his mate. they have to clear up some things, not that there isn't love between them (plenty of that!) but running a pack is more then just opening your arms and letting old pack members in without a little of investigating.

i'm sure if you're a reader of this series you will know more of the nuances hidden here and there but as i mentioned before, not having read them does not put down this story. i really liked this story and it may persuade to slowly start this series.

Scholar Scholar by Cass Reynolds
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

We've met Theron before. reluctantly helping his brother, he doesn't come across as being the nicest person and he seems to be a bit of a jerk. he hate his shifter side and has spend the last few years looking for a cure to get rid of his tiger.
when lilly tries to warn him that there is some kind of price on his head, that the local fighting ring is after his hide, he ignores her and her warning.
yet deep down his beast is rumbling with something he doesn't want to recognize or even accept. he knows what lilly really is and he despises her "kind", humans that willingly let themselves be altered to become more! disgusting!
but his beast is stubborn enough to let him track her down. what he finds out and learns puts her in a whole new perspective and he starts to agree with his tiger, she may be their fated mated.
but realizing something doesn't always make things easier and it's then when things start to get rough and dangerous.
it's the final story in this trilogy but i do wonder if it really is?
i loved meeting the new characters and also liked seeing how some of our others were doing.

Review: Hounded

Hounded Hounded by Tasha Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dulcie and Van, two people couldn't be more different yet there is that invisible pull that brings them together. two shifters of a very different kind get roped up into a little agatha christy-like mysterious murders and together they work on finding out who the murderer is. along the way both battle their demons and hang-ups. on more then one occasion i thought i knew how things were going but yet i got surprised.
Tasha has a flair to making things so dramatic and addictive! couldn't put the book down until i was done reading! if you're lucky to have read her other books you will want to have this too!

Review: Highland Secrets

Highland Secrets Highland Secrets by Ann Gimpel
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

she did it again. roped me in with a single book into another series!!
his memory wiped, Angus is used as a pawn for the celtic gods. he's growing tired of having to cater to their every problem but as long as he doesn't know where he comes from, or what time for that matter!, he doesn't really have another choice but to go along with their shenanigans.
that is until he's sent on a mission to find out the trust about a dragon having killed a mage. the celts manage to also send one of their own to investigate. the virgin huntress joins him. plagued with her own demons it quickly becomes crystal clear these two are attracted to each other.
what will the future bring for them? will their investigation go easy or will they be blocked at every corner? last i heard these ancient dragons aren't known to be friendly...

what a new and wonderful world Ann has created. i can't wait to dig into the other books of this series. once you start reading you don't want to put down your reading device! loved it! loved it! loved it !
