I'm a rookie writer enjoying the flow of words sprouting out of my fingers. Sometimes it goes easy, at other times it's a real struggle. I love and crave any kind of feedback, good or bad. I write when I can, but a husband, two kids, 4.2 cats (aging from 15 years to 4 months) do take up most of my time. Yet I found the time to try out something I never thought I was good at. I started writing. I came to love it and enjoy the new friendships I've made with fellow writers I simply adore (well I like the writers, but adore their work *grins*)

Review: His To Bear

His To Bear His To Bear by Scarlett Grove
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Brody is gutted when he finds his best friend in his bear form. shifting back to human form only one word escapes from his lips before he looses consciousness again : pushed!
that one word sets so much in motion but during all this his own bear still finds the time to zero in on Millie, the new MD, a curvaceous doctor in charge of taking care of his best friend. mate is all his bear is able to say and though brody agrees with him, he doesn't think the time is right, not with his mind all over the place now he lost his best friend and the pending investigation.
millie proves to be very resourceful and helpful. so much so that his bear pushing him faster then he'd like but on more then one occasion he gives in to the attraction and those moments are the best of his life.
but there is still a murder to be solved!
together their gathering clues and finding out more.
the conflict in their feelings is touching, he wants to grieve but finding his mate makes him a bit happy at the same time.
it was touching to see these two come together, his pain and his joy just jumped at you from the virtual pages. the core of the story read like a really good who-done-it, liked how it all fit together.
i hope this series goes on for a while. there are a lot of forests that need wardens, right?

Review: Bear Actually

Bear Actually Bear Actually by Truli Thorne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

for months she has worked for the mayor and for exact the same amount of time did she thwart his advances, no matter how much she enjoyed their weekly banter when he tries to ask her out.
but when cleo goes to her doctor appointment and is given not so good news she knows time isn't on her side if she wants to be a mother! she's not looking for a relationship but she does want a good natural donor for her baby, her clock is ticking! for her there is only one prime candidate and that's her direct boss, the mayor. for months she avoided him and now she's done doing that. much to his surprise, when she tells him she changed her mind about the date. the smile appearing on his face shows that his interest in her was probably more then the fun weekly banter and really wanted to go out with her.
peter doesn't know where to go with his happiness when cleo finally accepts his invitation for dinner. for months his bear has been pining away for her, the one his bear said was their mate. he agreed 100% but he had to be careful, nobody but a select few knew he was a bear. shifters weren't "out" and him being mayor didn't make it easy on him to pursue his mate or not. that she worked for him was the only thing that kept his bear in check all the time.
but then some hot shot lawyer steps in and threatens to ruin it all!
oblivious to cleo a lot is happening all around her and when details start trickling in there is more then just her own clock ticking for time!

blackmail and danger, friendships tested, love blooming, secrets shared. all ingredients for a good book. lovely addition to this series, a few familiar faces that ties the books nicely together, love it!
if you read the books prior to this one, then you just have to get this one too.

Review: Submission Specialist: A Bad Boy Romance

Submission Specialist: A Bad Boy Romance Submission Specialist: A Bad Boy Romance by Ada Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

book one was awesome, book two : to die for!! not sure where to start with this one. he's a badass fighter, he's also a womanizer but when shy skylar steps into his room after a fight to massage him all his senses and desires go into overdrive. time is playing against him because everytime he thinks he can make his move on her something comes in between.
then the big bosses have a new plan, one with a whole plotted out scenario. he doesn't like that, not one bit. but then skylar creeps into his mind and suddenly that plans takes on a whole new meaning. he agrees, on one condition. the pretend bride/wife isn't the girl they're suggesting, he wants skylar for that role!
working behind the scene on the lower levers skylar is nervous when she's called up to help out with the big fighters, specially when she's told she's to take care of Austin, one of the best fighters in the ring. just being near him makes her feel all weird but she does her best not to give in. she loves her job too much to break the one rule : staff doesn't mingle with the fighters.
but austin is making it hard (in more ways then one) for her to concentrate on her job.
when a few days later she's called upstairs with the bosses she thinks she's losing her job. what awaits her as her even more surprised. with her job on the line she doesn't see any way out and agrees to the fake wedding to Austin.
what starts out as fake and pretend takes on a real feeling pretty quick. when more dangerous stuff threatens them both things go from bad to worse to lethal!

a thrilling story that had me on the tip of my chair rooting for them! some surprises along the way (good and bad!) it was hard to put down the book until it was finished!
can't for the next bad boy is sent our way!!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

julia had been lured by her ex to try again but little things convinced her that going that route wouldn't be the best decision. finding him with a young girl on his lap only proved that. rushing out he manages to catch up with her and his intentions are far from honorable. when things take a turn for the worse a passerby steps and and tries to diffuse the situation.
introducing himself as Rex, she's swooned by his handsome appearance and despite her apprehension she feels a connection. rex tries to make her at ease and let her decide what to do. giving in to her feelings she goes with him and she has the night of her life. but what happens after also changes her live forever!
is rex really a stranger? what he just a passerby?
will julia come to terms with the whole new world that opens to her?

a lot of questions pop up and slowly you're getting the answers. not always perfect but you get them.
parts of the story could have been fleshed out a bit more to give it a bit more depth but overall it's a good read on a rainy day!

Review: What's Love Got To Do With It

What's Love Got To Do With It What's Love Got To Do With It by Emma Roman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

the will of their grandfather left them all in a bit of a pickle. they need to fins a wife and preferably one who wants to have a baby within a year ...
they all hated their grandfather for that stipulation to hold on to the family company and funds.
Tj decides just finding a woman isn't his way, he'll make a list and choose the best one! a friendship is al he's after, some compatibility in the bedroom wouldn't be bad either but he didn't want more. at the local cafe he's having one interview after another and none of the beautiful woman gives him a spark.
the second day of interviews is about to start when Anna slips into the booth and makes the best pitch of them all. only she never was on his list! but screw his list, he likes her!
everything starts of fast but their connection is real, but what when some things create some misunderstandings and what should have been pretending isn't longer pretending?
will anna and TJ be able to work through the misunderstandings and admit to each other what they really feel?

another stellar addition to the somewhere tx bachelors. the stinton brothers have a hard time with the will but they find strong women while they're at it! love reading these. you just know they each have their own character but when it comes to their newfound family they're fierce and protective but more importantly they're brothers and they don't make things easy on each other either!!
loved the bantering and ribbing they give each other.

Review: The Cougar's Wish

The Cougar's Wish The Cougar's Wish by Holley Trent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

belle has been drawn to the hellmouth time and time again. every time her attempt was interrupted by her brothers but now another person stepped in to be her guard-dog. steven has his own demons to battle and though he's came down there to check upon his sister, he can't help but stay for a little while to help out. belle pushes his buttons and drives him mental. that he feels attracted to her and her cougar way of acting around him doesn't bode well. when guarding her and keeping her out of trouble becomes a serious task he can't keep on denying that he wants her, real bad.
belle on her part has been battling her cougar, never showing interest in any male, has her now acting like a hussy around steven. her cat wants him and she's doing her best to convince belle of the same thing.
together with the rest of the clan they work together to solve the issue with the hellmouth because whatever or whomever is calling to belle isn't giving up!
another wonderful installment in this series. another couple formed. loved reading this from the other perspective, the boys have it bad but it can be just as hard for the female cougar to get her way, specially when you're both stubborn!
loved reading about these two and i'm curious how everything will move along because i'm quite sure we haven't seen the last of the foye's!

Review: The Hitman's Baby: A Standalone Bad Boy Romance Novel

The Hitman's Baby: A Standalone Bad Boy Romance Novel The Hitman's Baby: A Standalone Bad Boy Romance Novel by Kimberly Fox
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

the first bad boy book from kimberly fox and it's a bulls eye shot! the mob are a ruthless bunch, they need their killers. but if your number one and two don't really get along you still make due. the big boss orders the ninja assassin to fetch his daughter from university, though colton thinks he's the better man to go pick her up. he goes against his boss' wishes and sets out to get her himself, convinced that having a bit more of human side to him would make her more willing to come home then with the ninja assassin.

on campus isn't really lucky in finding her, the only hint he's gotten was by sheer luck, finding out she started a certain class the morning after. this gave him a night to scout out the campus, maybe even find a party and a hot college girl to warm his bed for the night.

sara is at one of those parties with friends, friends who are trying to let her hook up with some one, anyone actually! every single one she turns down, she finds something wrong with all of them. that is until HE walks in. tall, dwarfing the others there as he stalks his way through the party goers like a pro. muscled from head to toe and covered in ink. she wasn't really sure if he actually fit on campus but yet he was here at the party. she knows he's out of her league and he gives of too much of a bad boy vibe to be any good for her. redirecting her attention she has the misfortune of being dragged into a conversation with her male friend, a friend who insists loves her and thinks that being drunk is the best way to convince her of his attention. taking him away from her friends she tries her best to let him down gently but the message isn't arriving. stumbling over her own words mister tall, handsome and muscle steps in going along with her fib telling her friend he's her boyfriend.
colton felt he just needed to step to safe the cute girl that had caught his attention before. something about her made him wild, made him want her, it also made him even more blunt then he already is. after escorting her to the dancefloor he doesn't mince words and actually enjoys their battle of words, no matter how riled she gets from it. he made it perfectly clear where he would love to have her lips and his promise that she would be back for him only was the cherry on top of it all.
sara was pissed, how dare he?! but after seeing him dancing with another girl she can't help but feel jealous and throws all caution in the wind. if her friends want her to have a college experience she's sure he'll be giving it to her.
the morning after is when all hells breaks loose when she tries to get him out of her dorm room but instead finds one of her dad's goon in front of her door and colton quickly finding out who she really is. colton turning out to also being a goon from daddy dearest.

when it pours, it rains they say and that is just what happens to sara when she sees the two goons fighting and makes her own getaway only to be picked up outside her down by a group of russian goons.

and then it's a race against the clock. who will find her? who will keep her sage? what more of the ugly past comes to the surface?

it's the first book for this writer in this genre and i was not disappointed. all the boxes got ticked. it had a nice flow to read, it had action (whichever kind you prefer dirty or violent) and it ends with no cliffhangers! really loved it and hope for more of the same in the future!

More Wicked Alphas, Wild Nights More Wicked Alphas, Wild Nights by Anna Lowe
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

was lucky to read "rose in bloom" by anna lowe.

loved revisiting these two because their original story was so touching and emotional. see how they're doing now is just a bonus, a cherry on top of a big fat unhealthy but ooh so delicious cake!
these two are simply sizzling when his boar senses that his desert rose is ready for their unit to expand. he trails her back to the library, glad she's there alone. his "rose" doesn't disappoint, she rather surprises him, in a very goooood way. how good? pick up a copy and find out!

drake and rhia by elianne adams was another scene i was able to read. (call of the dragon)

why are dragons so hot? and big teases? well these two are and are making good use of their mental connection to drive each other mad with lust. so mad and horny they just have to find a way to cope until they have a lot more time to sate their desire.

Review: Southern Shifters: Finding Luke

Southern Shifters: Finding Luke Southern Shifters: Finding Luke by V. Vaughn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

what a read! passion, heartache, drama,... it's all there.
xena is 35 and still a single cougar, she dated almost all of the elibable man in the pack but not a single one made her cat purr. that is until luke enters her hair salon. that's when her cat decides to start acting like a hussy in front of the tower of a man with his rugged looks and sweet sent. she senses he's a shifter too and with the way he moves she's almost sure he's some type of cat.
luke doesn't leave untill he made sure they were having a date. entering the salon had sealed the deal for him, xena was his, styled hair, curves and magical hands to boot.
what turns out to be the best night of her life turns into a nightmare when luke casually mentions her he's a werebear.
you can do a lot in her pack but what is a big no no is mixing species . but fate has other ideas and xena can't stay away from luke but the consequences aren't nice as she find the front of her hairsalon vandalized. they get even worse when not even a day later luke is almost killed!
what will these two shifters do? family means everything to them. one has left one behind, the other knows hers won't accept her mating for what it is.

loved reading lukes story and the little surprise near the end had me giggling a bit, it was a nice pun to the story and certainly gave it a fun ending for the couple! loved how it tied in with both the kindle world series and violets own world. nice cross over! i wouldn't mind reading about gigi hint hint

Review: Prey

Prey Prey by Roxie Noir
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

2 years have passed since the eldest brothers first shifted into a huge eagle, two years of them trying to figure out why he isn't shifting. his mothers words don't ring true for him, that a woman is the key to them being able to shift.
28 years old and finally finishing his engineering degree, he sets out to the jobfair on campus. dressed up in a suit that basically emptied out his savings account, briefcase filled with resumes, he has no high hopes. his spirit is lifted when he sees that for once he isn't the odd one out despite being 4 to 5 years older then most of them.
then a woman catches his eye and he stands there frozen, his soul waking up like it recognized its other half. he gets a one track mind, he has to meet her, talk to her, anything just to get close to her.
katrina is a bit bored as she's used as a nice front to lure in potential candidates for a summer internship. her boss is acting a bit strangely and each prospective candidate is quickly evaluated and more or less dismissed. her boss is looking for a specific person, a person related to someone having been seen shifting into a bird.
as the two meet there is that instant spark and katrina finds herself agreeing to things she normally wouldn't agree with. a stern look from her boos makes her wrap up the conversation but not before zach manages to squeeze a date out of her for the following day.
she takes him to a remote and derelict hotel, the view from the rooftop is worth trespassing for. up there it's like they are in their own little cocoon with nothing that can come between them, unless it's blue and red lights and the strong arm of the law.
this unfortunate interruption doesn't do much to dampen the mood that was growing between them and before long things really get hot and bothered.
the day after is mostly awkward but both had things to do so zach went home and hoped to have a nice day to relax. she's called in to work and told she's to welcome zach to the facilities and show him around. and this is where she starts suspecting a lot more is going on and she has to make a choice which way to go!

it's a bit of lead in but trust me, this is nothing compared to the actual story, the sparks are flying all over the place, their feelings genuine, their past troubled and complicated. i really loved this second book in the series and can hardly wait what's in store for brother number 3! roxie, write faster * wink * i like that they're all connected in someway and still you can read them on their own without feeling left out, enough is told to make up a general idea of what has happened to stay in the loop.

a must read!

Review: Shiftr: Swipe Left for Love (Timo) BBW Bear Shifter Romance

Shiftr: Swipe Left for Love (Timo) BBW Bear Shifter Romance Shiftr: Swipe Left for Love (Timo) BBW Bear Shifter Romance by Ariana Hawkes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

i love these books! each and every single one!
timo's story is just hmmmm. who wouldn't want a man stripping for them?
sadly this little fact makes "her" decide that their encounter is just a one off.
only timo's bear has other ideas because he deemed her their mate and timo agrees. no other woman made them feel like this, no other woman was so perfect for them. but he has a tour to finish, he doesn't want to let down the town they're trying to safe with the profit their making stripping.
a few towns over Raven still can't belief about what she did. it was the most perfect night of her life and she walked away!
a few weeks have passed and everything changed, she was fed up with her job and the god forsaken town she lived in. impulsively she decides to make the big move and go to hope valley. mutual friend Lauren steps in to help her find a job and lodgin. the fact that raven isn't feeling super doesn't get by lauren and she starts putting one and one together. she only knows of one way to bring these two back together and that is the shiftr app they all used to find their mate, she knows Timo is on there, now it's get raven on there and let the app do the rest!

another wonderful addition to this series. at first i wondered where things were going because it took a while before the app was actually used but when it did get mentioned and how : brilliant!
if you liked and loved the other stories , you will love this one just as much if not more!

Review: Xan's Feisty Mate, Iron Wolves MC 2

Xan's Feisty Mate, Iron Wolves MC 2 Xan's Feisty Mate, Iron Wolves MC 2 by Elle Boon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

breezy is a busy nurse. on her way home she gets attacked. thankfully she isn't just human, she's a wolf too. though beaten up she manages to escape her attacker, make it to her car and call in with the pack of what happened. she's told to come to the clubhouse and she knows things won't get easier.
when xan receives news that breezy had been attacked, it was the last drop his wolf and himself needed to stop beating around the bush and accept that breezy was their mate. enranged and in need to calm down xan steps into the ring to fight.
when he sees breezy, bruises and all, the fight is over quickly. making his way over, his wolf is frenzied that she's hurt. intent on not letting her out of his sight, he offers to bring her home but breezy is stubborn.
for years she's longed for him, dressed differently but not once did he gave a sign he wanted her, even worse, he flaunted woman after woman right in front of her. can't blame her to not really trust his intentions. as xan starts an argument with a packmember about who and how she gets home, breezy grabs the change to sneak out and drive home herself. only she hasn't been on the road for five minutes when she sees a big SUV following her. she calls back to the clubhouse, xan answering right away, the background sounds making it clear he's already on the road as the call is forwarded to his cell. she manages to fill him in of her whereabouts and what is going one before she rammed and driven of the road.
xan barely makes it in time, leaping from his speeding bike, killing three of the four attackers before he manages to get breezy to safety.
two times she's been targeted now and it put things in motion, something more is happening and it isn't just the rogue wolves they culled weeks ago, something more is going on.
xan is done pretending and in his own way comes clean with breezy and his need to fulfill their mating bond. she's reluctant to belief his words but he's persistent and she dares hope her deepest desire might come true, xan choosing her to be his.
as the couple goes forward, the rest of the pack gathers to talk things through. rowan's phantom team is called in and they mean business.
when they're all catching up on things, everything goes wrong again. another attempt on breezy has them all on high alert. luckily this time they managed to capture the one responsible for the kidnapping. with as little as they know they do their best to find out what is happening, why they want breezy and only her.
things don't go easy from there on out and the past catches up on them all!

what thrilling ride this book is!! loved xan! loved the phantom team (secretly hoping they may get their own series, bad ass man meeting bad ass women!! hell yeah)
loved the little innuendo's and hints through the book. hoping for certain matches, one sooner or later then the other, so crossing fingers and toes for them. loved the reality with how the book is written, the bad ass nature of them all, yet the need to take care and protect prevailing where needed. liked book one, loved book two, wondering how i can surpass book three because i see epic battle up ahead!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

hot looks, tattoos all over, a gaze that melts hearts, he's good with more then just his hands AND he cooks. the bad boy cook does what he wants when he wants. his escapades giving him more then enough news coverage. yet his publicist is insisting on him giving an interview to a less then reputable tabloid paper.
from the moment he meets suzie Q he's got a lot of other things on his mind then the interview she should be conducting.
he sparring of words between these two is just fun to read, you know what they say about that line between love and hate, right?
they get to know each other on a whole new level but then other parties involved tip everything and then it's a question of what can be rescued.

loved the story, loved their interactions. the story had a nice pace to it, was hard to put it down. where can i find a bad boy cook for my own?

Review: Isaiah: Avery Wolves

Isaiah: Avery Wolves Isaiah: Avery Wolves by J.K. Snow
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

another fast paced addition to this series! isaiah is dead tired when he gets home after the biggest climb of his life and just wants to crash and recharge his batteries. his naptime is interupted when zeus, his beloved labrador, is making a lot of noise. not really wanting him outside in this cold snowy weather, he wants to investigate himself but zeus is as fast as lighting. mere minutes outside and zeus has found the source for his concern. when isaiah gets closer he notices the blood. not far of he finds an unconscious naked woman, clawmarks all over her front and back.
he doesn't know how fast to get her inside, calling up his mom for advise.
little did he know the woman he took in would spark such protective emotions inside of him and his wolf, but he also wasn't prepared for the danger she, unwillingly, brought with her. luckily he's got a lot of brothers to help out!
really liked this addition to the avery brothers, thrilling, dangerous but also romantic, funny at times. the fast pace sucks you in from the moment you start reading and you don't want to put it down until you're done reading!!

loved the basic of the story, the twists and turns are written good. she's a new writer to me and i liked the book. there are a few moments where she could have added more to the story to give it more depth and insight, which sucks the reader in even more.
the torment that's described when he pushed back his bear and when it came back full force is very tangible, her acceptance is fitting for this kind of story.
it was a lovely read, curious about the second book.

Review: The Syndicate

The Syndicate The Syndicate by Sophie Davis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

that story starts of quickly with a high end chase trough alleys and markets. stassi is running for her life, her partner not in sight. only at the very last minute does he show and "saves" her.
when both are back at "their" present time you get a more detailed view of how the syndicate works.
two people, runners, are sent back in time to recover old artifacts, artifacts that in turn are sold for a high price.
sometimes a job lasts a few days, or a week. when stassi and gaige volunteer for the next job in paris, at the year 1925, they know it won't be an easy job since it's stated it will at least take 3 weeks. both have their own agenda but after a crash course they travel to "old paris" and get situated. from the first party there it's clear things aren't always what they seem.
what should have been a routine job turns out to be so much more! mystery, danger, friendship,...
a book well worth reading and i'm curious to the next one in the series! this was a new author for me and i wasn't disappointed.

when he sees breezy, bruises and all, the fight is over quickly. making his way over, his wolf is frenzied that she's hurt. intent on not letting her out of his sight, he offers to bring her home but breezy is stubborn.
for years she's longed for him, dressed differently but not once did he gave a sign he wanted her, even worse, he flaunted woman after woman right in front of her. can't blame her to not really trust his intentions. as xan starts an argument with a packmember about who and how she gets home, breezy grabs the change to sneak out and drive home herself. only she hasn't been on the road for five minutes when she sees a big SUV following her. she calls back to the clubhouse, xan answering right away, the background sounds making it clear he's already on the road as the call is forwarded to his cell. she manages to fill him in of her whereabouts and what is going one before she rammed and driven of the road.
xan barely makes it in time, leaping from his speeding bike, killing three of the four attackers before he manages to get breezy to safety.
two times she's been targeted now and it put things in motion, something more is happening and it isn't just the rogue wolves they culled weeks ago, something more is going on.
xan is done pretending and in his own way comes clean with breezy and his need to fulfill their mating bond. she's reluctant to belief his words but he's persistent and she dares hope her deepest desire might come true, xan choosing her to be his.
as the couple goes forward, the rest of the pack gathers to talk things through. rowan's phantom team is called in and they mean business.
when they're all catching up on things, everything goes wrong again. another attempt on breezy has them all on high alert. luckily this time they managed to capture the one responsible for the kidnapping. with as little as they know they do their best to find out what is happening, why they want breezy and only her.
things don't go easy from there on out and the past catches up on them all!

what thrilling ride this book is!! loved xan! loved the phantom team (secretly hoping they may get their own series, bad ass man meeting bad ass women!! hell yeah)
loved the little innuendo's and hints through the book. hoping for certain matches, one sooner or later then the other, so crossing fingers and toes for them. loved the reality with how the book is written, the bad ass nature of them all, yet the need to take care and protect prevailing where needed. liked book one, loved book two, wondering how i can surpass book three because i see epic battle up ahead!

Review: Dragon Void

Dragon Void Dragon Void by Ophelia Bell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

the revelation at the end of book one is the start of this one. lukas and iszak's sister Evie isn't dead! she's being held captive by the same man that had betrayed belah all those millenia ago.
ked, belah's brother, knows that evie is his mate but getting her out won't be easy. the blessed man that got their blood transfused by their dragonblood are strong, if not stronger then the immortals. how they'll go about it will take some serious planning. another big unknown is who will be there, will it be battle or can they act quickly and covertly.
when ked manages to shadow himself inside the sights that greets him rips his heart apart! evie and a man are drenched in blood and near death. evie, weak as she is, still recognized ked for who and what he is and puts up no fight at all. her only request is to bring the man with them so she can bury him with grace.
ked has no other choice as to bring both and then their journey starts, yes theirs as in multiple. evie is healing, getting her wings back and trying to cope with the loss of marcus.
ked knows that marcus is now an elite, a blessed man with his blood changed with that of three dragons, three imortal dragons, his brother's and his'. he also knows marcus isn't dead, but it's going to take a lot of convincing to make marcus understand he isn't dead yet and won't be for a long time to come. that they need him alive, that evie needs him.
it's the start of a big emotional ride of acceptance and moving forward. as the story in the present day continues you get glimpses of what happened in the past. you get to know the elites for who they are and you can't help to feel sorry for them. none of them choose to be what they are today!

i was glad i was given the opportunity to read this book beforehand. i already love ophelia's writing, specially her dragons. but the emotional trauma that is depicted in this series is so raw and real! it's simple to be in awe of. i'm rooting for the other four now! it's going to be a touch waiting game for these books but i'll have to endure!

Review: Dragon Blues

Dragon Blues Dragon Blues by Ophelia Bell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

we join miss bell as she starts another journey with our most beloved dragons. this time it's the immortal ones who have to wake up and get with the times.
a big mistake so many eons ago made for the immortal six to go into hiding and even hiding their children.
but now is the time for them to come out of hiding and like their children find happiness again. easier said then done!
the first one who's "chosen" to meander into "our" world and time is Belah, a red dragon. she isn't very trusting of mankind because it was a man who betrayed her and made them all go into hiding. the true story had gotten lost over time and what is told today hurts her to even hear it being told. she didn't set out to do what happened, she was a victim just as much as the dragons and other species that were captured over the centuries.
on her first night out Belah was captivated by Luke from the moment her eyes met his and she got enchanted by the music he was playing. her fellow dragon and friends are wuick to usher her to move things forward and as the show is over, the man she desires, Lukas, makes his way over to their table. quick introductions are made because as it turns out her friends know who he is, and not much later both of them are on their way to his house. it's only when things get more heated that belah starts to realize there is more to lukas then meets the eye.
hoping for the best she tries to tell him her story but from the second he figures out who she really is he makes a 180. she's the cause his sister is gone and dead!
crushed and broken, belah leaves. but her friends aren't giving up and tell her that she has to trust fate. if she sets out a plan, it will get completed, maybe not the easiest way to get to the end goal but she works her magic.
keeping this in mind belah goes out again, meeting lukas' brother Iszak and the attraction is just the same. he knows who she is being informed by his brother already. but he sees things a bit differently and is willing to hear her out.
belah is a bit conflicted, how can it be that fate has more then one mate for her in mind?
how far will she have to go? she is one of the immortal six! but finding happiness is important to her too.

i really liked this continuation with our dragons. this time we see another side of them. the emotional battle all of them have to go through are heartbreaking but the reward is so worth it! the ending is even better is a terrible tease for the second book in the immortal series!

Review: Furever Loyal: A BBW Shifter MC Romance

Furever Loyal: A BBW Shifter MC Romance Furever Loyal: A BBW Shifter MC Romance by Iris Balfour
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

cara bruin is upset when she finds out a group of shifters is residing in "her" forest and she vows to get rid of them and their dirty business. what she didn't count on was Val and the pull he had on her. her bear is antsy and is urging her to go after val and claim him for their own. there are but a few issues.
1 he's from the pack of shifters
2 he's a wolf, she's a bear!
3 his pack is a nasty bunch
4 did she mention he's a wolf? and drop dead gorgeous too?
val feels the attraction too but know he can't act on it. his pack is nasty, no two ways about it and every female that is brought in is up for anyone whose willing, which is mostly everyone! but things aren't going well. their alpha staying gone for too long, others acting as if they're in charge. other members are using the drugs themselves, that doesn't make things easier, he's one of the few, if not only one, who doesn't use and sees what is happening.
when he runs into cara in town, he noticed her, he's even more pissed at her for even daring to touch his ride! but when he sees her out of town he doesn't hesitate to help her out when her car is broken down. feeling her near him makes his wolf go all crazy inside of his head.

these two have big battles to fight before either or both will come out the victor in this story. things aren't always as easy as they should be but fate is fate, there is way around what she plans and when she plans.... well just pick up a copy and read for yourself!
another nice story in this series as cara battles with her emotions and her desire.

Review: Honeymoon Hoax

Honeymoon Hoax Honeymoon Hoax by Devyn Morgan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

i like the books devyn writes, short sweet reads for a quick getaway from life. with this one surpassed himself. i was a bit sad it was over and hoped there was more to follow!

brad's been left at the altar. to drown his sorrow, his best mena nd himself have a merry get together instead of the wedding party. tipsy as he is he can't help but complain that his all paid for wedding vacation is now not happening. an all-in cruise with lots of awesome activities at a low price. he can't just go with a friend because the low price had a catch to it : you had to be married and that is just the problem! he's go spouse!
his best friend cameron is sad with how things went for brad. he didn't deserve this. he wished he could comfort him in the way he would prefer, always having had a crush on him but brad had always stated that he was straight, so a secret crush it was.
one of their friend comes up with the brilliant idea for the two of them getting married and go on that cruise!
brad, in his drunken state is all for it and it doesn't take him long to get on one knee and ask cameron to marry him.
he doesn't really know how to handle it, deep down it's THE thing he wished for for a long time, but he also knows it's just pretend. he can't help but want to help his best friend and accepts. not much later and the group of men makes their way onto the vegas strip and finding a wedding chapel to tie the knot.
from there on out things are moving fast. the little changes in brad towards him make him wonder if maybe, really maybe, brad might feel more for him? will this cruise be a time for exploring a secret desire or is it a road straight to hell with misgiving after misgiving?

the road these two make is one of acceptance and seeing things for what they really are. sometimes it's hard to see what is right in front of you!
really really liked this book! and it's on my list to read again soon!

Review: Western Bear Heat: Steamy Western Historical Paranormal Romance

Western Bear Heat: Steamy Western Historical Paranormal Romance Western Bear Heat: Steamy Western Historical Paranormal Romance by Tess Wilder
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

brother number 3 is "up for grabs". a sweet tale that shows once more how good the two sets of brothers work together. how smart they are.
it hasn't escaped the young females attantion that all of them are drop dead gorgeous.
this it's cody's turn to find his HEA but it's no easy sailing. all the best made plans go up in smoke when all the free spare time is sucked up into working double time at the coppermine. now the big boss is out of town for a few weeks his man in charge is cooking up some deal. he's letting them all work doubletime and demands a higher yield from the mines. it doesn't take long for cody to figure out what the foreman is trying to do, but proving it is harder. not that many are involved.
all these troubles doesn't prevent him from thinking and dreaming about faith, his bear convincing she's "the one" for them.
will he find time "to call upon" her and make things move forward to a life together?

if you were able to read book 1 and 2 you cannot miss this one, because it's just as good as the first two and shows how well they are integrating into town. the ladies are, well young ladies with the sweet desire to find a husband.
i'm really enjoying this series. there isn't hot sex from start to finish however that sweet and slow build up has it charms and makes for a fresh read: a shifter that can control the urge to complete the mate bond, right?

barrett on the other hand is a full magic wielder, one of the best, that he's hot as hell doesn't pass her either but she knows nothing can come of it. they barely spoke a few words.
she's more then curious and surprised when suddenly she's told that barrett is her next client. it seems odd to her because all she knew barrett was a full blooded magic wielder, not someone who had at least 25% wolfblood!
a few misconceptions are worked through and the subtle attraction that has been weaving a spell between them blows up full force. for once she will not have to pretend to like a client, or fake an orgasm.
what barret has to tell her after is life changing and is hard for her to belief. he's making a huge effort in convincing her they have to get out of the bordello asap and keep her safe.

will they make it out?
is she really special?
she knows her mother but was never told who her father was, will she find out now?
will she be able to do what is asked of her?

Review: Bad Boy Prince: A Billionaire Stepbrother Romance

Bad Boy Prince: A Billionaire Stepbrother Romance Bad Boy Prince: A Billionaire Stepbrother Romance by Vivian Wood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

disgraced by her father and his following suicide and another secret she hasn't told anyone about make her move away from courtland. going to college in the US is the way to go for Kit. but then she's called back by her mother. her "boyfriend" accompanies but being royal isn't an easy feat, all those rules and customs.
at the party she gets the biggest surprise of her life! her mother and rex father, the king, are standing close together. as all the children are called up on stage the surprise gets even bigger when the couple announces they're going to marry.
kit doesn't know how fast she has to get away to safe face, leaving behind her "boyfriend". rex finds her and his surprise is as big as hers when it came to their parents.
what neither expected is their old attraction is still simmering in the background. having been highschool sweethearts (in secret) kit is pretty convinced that should stay a secret, especially now with their parents tying the knot soon.
and yet things get even worse when a strange woman approaches kit and in no uncertain words claims her "boyfriend" has been cheating on her and has the proof. once more rex steps in and whisks her away.
her night over, her relationship over, kit only wants to get home and forget about all of it.
a day later rex runs into her at a club, the tingles traveling through his body proof that his need for her is still as livid as it was all those years ago, yet he knows he shouldn't act on them. not now she's back.
when he follows her outside and sees her arguing with her now "ex-boyfriend" in front of all the paparazzi he knows he has to step in, which he does. he just wants to keep her safe and away from the press.
little did he knows his valiant act had dire consequences. the pictures quickly found their way to the tabloids and of course his grandparents were all over them. their best solution was sticking kit unto his care 24/7, in his flat!
well, old flames and all that, you can guess these two can fight battle after battle, win some lose some but their attraction is winning overall.
sadly things don't go as smooth since her now ex "boyfriend" decides to start blackmailing kit with the secret she's kept for years.

will they keep giving in?
will the blackmail continue?
will kit come clean about her secret?
how will people react to it all?
their parents?
the monarchy?

it's called a stepbrother romance but honestly? it doesn't read like one, sure there are those little facts that almost make it one but the story itself and the characters surpass the genre. their encounters are witty, romantic, naughty and kinky. they show so many sides of themselves you can't help to root for them!

Review: FIGHT

FIGHT FIGHT by London Casey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

fighting is all he knows, it's what he lives and breaths. but then he made one mistake, that mistake cost him his concentration, that mistake cost him the match. his lapse may have"saved" the boss' son but he knows the next bullet being used will be aimed at his head.
he's more then surprised when the boss gives him a different job to do. he's sent to come biker gang to protect a woman. when he first sees her he knows he's in some serious trouble. the woman is sex on legs and covered in secrets left right and center, he should stay away!
should being the right thing to do, but he loves danger and it doesn't take long before the two of them get to know each other really really well.

a thrilling, dangerous story that takes you deep into a forbidden fight ring, MC and an attraction that's too strong to ignore!
